: : According to well informed sources within the State Patrol, they have NO PLANS on going to the 800mhz WSDOT system. They decided to use the High-Band frequencies and set up a state wide repeater system.
: : Also, 154.695 is used as a car-to-car frequency in most areas of Eastern Washington. I was in Spokane 2 weeks ago and they were using it there. Also used in Kennewick.
: : Hope this helps!
: Right. 154.695 is Hoquim area. Just could'nt think of the numbers. I hope WSP stays VHF so I can just use my 2 meter mobile to monitor. Thanx.
I had the opportunity to speak with a trooper about eighteen months ago who had just been involved in a communicaitons meeting. He stated that for voice WSP fully intended to remain at the VHF levels. Now I also read in one of the Seattle-Tacoma area newspapers about 3-4 months ago that WSP was not planning on going 800mhz BUT was preparing a budget to use digital throughout the system. They were concerned that the cost might be prohibitive and may not make it through the legislature. This was future planning 2-4 years down the road.
