Just a question and opinions to follow it, I live in a fringe reception area for 800mhz trunked signals. I found a small DSS dish antenna in the trash. I'm considering removing the LNA assembly and replacing it with a small Weatherproof 1/4 wave antenna assembly for the 800mhz spectrum. The assembly will be repositioned slightly higher so the dish will not have to set at such a steep angle. The mounting mast will be bent slightly too to accommidate the new angle. Will it work? Should I notice a significant improvement in signal strength?
