Dude,Uniden is not the same as fucken shitty ass radio shack piece of shit. Get a Uniden from National Electronics, they're in Kansas and they'll sell you a BC-245 XLT for 200 bucks. You can't beat their deal. I have one my self and I've dropped that mutherfucker like 20 times and the shit still works like a champ.
