: I'll be surprised if you're not having problems up there in King Co.
: In the last few months there have been posts on various web sites about similar problems with 800 MHz trunking systems in NJ, Fla., CA, ME, MD, PA, etc. etc.
: A small article in the June issue of Monitoring Times seems to address the basic problem.
: Quote: ... In Anne Arundel County, MD, 8 "dead zones" in which radio signals are weak or non-existant force police to turn to cellular phones for communications. Engineers and officials have concluded that, ironically, the problems stem from the presence of a cellular tower in each of those areas.
: Although the cellular companies and the police are assigned different frequencies, they are extremely close together, and the stronger cellular signals essentially overpower police transmissions. ... Unquote.

NOT Cell. Try NexTel. They run such high ERP's that it clobbers the front ends of the 800 users radio.
