: : : I have heard over the last couple of days bits and pieces of some kind of training going on between Bothell and Lake Forrest Park PD.
: : : I have also heard a new area designation as a "frank unit" on Bothell
: : : talk group (20208)
: : : Last night I heard this Frank unit do several traffic stops on Ballanger Way,that happens to be in Lake Forrest Park's juristdiction.
: : : Does anyone know if there is a partnership between the two of them??
: : : Jeff
: Oops.....Hey I did not use my real e-mail Don't want spam.
: I live close to the LFP Station (3 Mi),Drive by daily & notice several different types of law enforcement vech.(Sno-pac,Sea,KCP) Parked long times Overnight and during days...8+ hrs in there parking lot. Have not seen Bothell.
: Been monitoring LFP for years.Since 16/17 yrs old (40+ now)
: Hey how is your reception @ 800 mhz ? I get a lot of hiss...
: I've tried Larsen 7 element directional Yagi's at several directions but no difference...I pointed my yagi at same horizon (Direction as there's)not at them.
: Did you know they use to be dispatched from NCAP Security on Ballinger way, after hours late & weekends.
: I will try to pay a little closer attention. I also listen to the repeater input freq (45Mhz lower) and get good base station reception (And some mobiles)on my pro 2004 set on high speed scan, No delay.
: Also use Rad Shak pro 2066 and Uniden 235xlt
: Sorry about rambling I tired...
: Also noticed Local fire dept mobile on LFP Disp. Requesting traffic control at a incident
: Hey speaking of not being able not to afford dispatchers. They sure have a lot of newer LFPD cruisers parked a lot/long time at station mostly unused What a waste of money.

: : LFPPD figured out that they could not afford to dispatch themselves. They put out bids for KCSO and Bothell. Appears that KCSO was way under Bothell. LFP officers were afraid that KCSO would take over completely in the end. Like Carnation PD. A number of officers from Carnation were washed out because they did not meet Dept standards. So they went with a much higher cost of Bothell. Makes sense to me. NOT !
Just got done listening LFP Frank unit running a plate on traffic stop thru Bothell dispatcher (TTID 20208) I'm listening with two radios, One tuned to repeater input and the other to output. The signal was very close picked it up on repeater input. I normally unable to receive Bothell units on there repeater input freq's. I live near Lake Forest station several blocks away. (Noted SAM and BOY units exchanging info over radio on TTID 20208) Dispatcher just specifically called out by name "Lake Forest Park Unit's" Relaying info on a recent crime in North Seattle on Lake city way.
