Heard a trooper the other night calling for another "on Car 4" in the SW region, then he correct himself and said, "on Car 3". That got me to wondering, is there a Car 4 frequency not previously identified as such?

Yep Car1 through Car4 used throughout the state depending on the area. But no- its always been identified.

Districts 7 and 8 use car 4 exclusively. The same frequency is used on the east side as a primary frequency.

Just a heads up....

According to some documents I'm reviewing....

WSP may be changing system IDs....

From what I'm seeing, WSP will get their own system ID with ISSI to FBI/DOJ/IWN, instead of the current interzone link.

Programming should be complete by April, 2019 and district cutovers from April through June with final D2 cutover in June.

WSP does not simulcast any of their VHF channels.

Are you speaking of multicasting?

Yes??

Simulcast is transmitting on the same frequency on multiple transmitter sites.

Multicast is transmitting the same audio on multiple frequencies from either the same or multiple sites.

It makes a difference to us that do this in real life.

Yes, us 'in the know', know that, but the average Joe doesn't, and it probably doesn't matter to them.

We know what he meant, even if he didn't use the proper terminology.

Maybe he did know and there was something I didn't I did not assume that he was using the wrong terminology and so I questioned him.

I guess you read minds now eh?

The state patrol can change their minds about something at a moments notice. They should be simulcasting analog in most areas (instead of what they are trying now) so it would be exciting to see them finally doing so.

WSP 700 is coming back up after this weekend with a SysID of 9CC instead of 715.

The NAC is now 9C0. WACN is still BE000 RFSS is still 002 and the site is still 001.
