I know I'm about a week late posting this, but Glen Mitchell's FCC update page from last Sunday shows the Eastern Washington WHEERS UHF system as being license-modified for TRBO emissions.

Anyone know anything about this?

More speculation on my part here, . . . maybe for encryption ( HIPAA privacy) needs ? Which could be pretty easily accomplished within a digital platform.

EXAMPLE: Whidbey General Hospital in Island County has recently resurrected their old analog MED COM 4 system after a 20 year hiatus, now with with a multi-site simulcast arrangement for a greater signal footprint, but is also now contemplating the possibility of encryption.
