The Seattle police/fire feed seems to be down.

Same problem here. I see that the Seattle Simulcast has been 're-banded,' but as a newbie I'm not sure what I can do with my BCT8 to get Trunk Tracking to work again. I tried reprogramming the control channel down 15 Mhz as another member did, but this did not help.

The BCT8 does support rebanding. You must have the latest Firmware version and program the Custom Band Plan.

Looks like the feed radio didn't get programmed for the rebanding.

Thank you, I'll look into that.

Oh crap! I was logging on for the first time in years to see why my BCT8 wasn't working all of a sudden only to find out that I have to screw with firmware?? I barely got the damn thing programmed in the first place!

Would it be easier to just buy a newer scanner? I only monitor Seattle Police and Fire. Nothing fancy...

Except for Mark, upgrading the firmware is a relatively painless process. After upgrading the firmware you'll just need to change the control channel and your scanner will work just fine.

If/when a shuffled band plan is implemented no scanner will work.

Thank you so much, Atomic Taco! It was this part that sounded confusing:
"...and program the Custom Band Plan."

Okay, I watched this helpful video: http://youtu.be/m9hSVdQDD34
...only to find out that I don't have the proper cable and computer to do the firmware upgrade. I would rather just throw money at this problem. Is there anywhere in the greater Seattle area that I can take my poor little Bearcat and PAY someone to upgrade the firmware for me?
