My mom could do a better job than that and she has been dead for over 20 years! :chaingun:

Looks like the Comcast sub-contractors Prince are branching out.

They did a "high speed cable Internet modem phones toaster sink" or whatever install at my folk's house a few years ago... Spliced with wire nuts too? Yup. Ground wire taped to the white vinyl siding across the entire front of the house with black electrical tape? Yup.
Said wire wrapped around the outdoor faucet several times and secured with even more electrical tape? Yup.

So I called century-qwest to ask why service isn't on as promised last Friday.
One disconnect and four transfers later I'm talking with 'John' who has a distinct accent. From some other country. John transfers me to "Hannahanaha". She does not sound hot, but tells me a tech guy will "be arriving" tomorrow between 0900-1800.
I have a fence to layout so I'll be home anyway.

I end the call, drive back home and turn on the desktop to tether & read the newspaper I downloaded to my cell while talking to century-qwest. (cell service is about 1.5 miles away).
Desktop detects a network and I now have DSL but no voice phone.

I'm going to watch the tech guy do a bunch of tests before I point out the tackle box connection.
Should be fun.

The problem was you can't use black wire.

Actually he was an alright guy, said it was/is a temporary install and would submit the paperwork requesting to get it in the ground after it thaws out.
