I'm curious if it's possible (and how) to decrypt the handful of digital channels on Seattle PD's system. I have a Uniden BCD996XT. While I've been scanning for a long time, I'm new to such a powerful scanner and haven't yet explored it's more advanced capabilities.

Is decrypting these channels even possible?

Many thanks.

Sean lies. Get an XTL and figure out the encryption key and you can decrypt them no problem.

What do you mean by an XTL? I do have the Uniden 996XT. Is that what you were referring to?

Perhaps it would be better to look up "sarcasm" instead.

If you figure out the encryption key you absolutely can listen to the encrypted stuff.

No argument there. I stand corrected. Technically speaking, he would then also need the keyloader. Then it will be as easy as breaking one of those 4 digit dial bike locks.

If you ask Sean nice enough and buy him a case of pabst blue ribbon, he will load the keys in your XTL or XTS with his key loader. He's also very good at programing scanners so if you needed any help with your Uniden 996XT, he would be a good person to ask!

Maybe he could program the Monroe ID's in my scanner. :D

No decryption. Impossible unless you're the NSA, and illegal under Federal law besides.

Closed.
