Ken here is a question maybe you can answer, M76 & E76 get toned out quite a bit Automatic Aid with SCFD 1 and during the day SNOPAC will tone their individual unit all day long. But at 0300 in the AM when I'm trying to sleep at 71's SNOPAC dispatches E76 Automatic Aid to SCFD 1 using the "ALL District 7 Page" Waking up every Station, is there a good reason for this practice ?

When I get a "Pass" command from Snocom, I just put the units that they request on the run line ex: Req M76 w/whatever dist 1 unit for blah..blah..blah.

So my command on the line would look something like

D M76 ( dispatch M76)

It could be that the dispatchers on the late shift add the AFPAGE? ( A pass command is done manual, and forced by the dispatcher, and cad verified later in the process)

So it might look like D M76 AFPAGE

As for a reason?

I cant think of a good reason to wake up anyone that does not need to be woken up.

Thanks Ken, you can imagine the grumbling at 3:00 AM when the crew meets in the hallway and we here over the speakers it's for M76.

Back in the day, when there was only M71, we got tones at 71's for almost ever run. It got better when M72 was on, but not much since B71 wanted to know everything going on.

I will bust out the book in the morning, and see what the deal really is.

I know that I have been known to streamline the process, and have it bite me on a later date.

If I can find something to make it a little easier, I will put the bug into someones ear to maybe fix it so more guys can get some shut-eye.

I was a resident at 32 for a couple of years, and I recall getting up for lots of calls that I did not need to be up for... It was not fun.

Fire TAC has now asked that we use the following format.

County Fire Districts and Departments,

"District ( # ), standby for (type code)”
“Marysville Fire, standby for (type code)”

Everett Fire Department,

"(Station), standby for (type code)"

Also told that it would be looked at again in 6 months for poss changes.

Thanks Ken! I read the MEMO. The other morning at work about 0700 I heard the radio say "E71 & M74 Standby for page" A Brother Firefighter walked past my office and I said "Lets go we got a call" He said "how do you know" and told him "I heard it on the radio" Certainly better then " ? STAND BY FOR PAGE"
