Hi All, Drew KB2SEO from Chatsworth Ga here. Please note the following information in regards to the 2 meter, 1.25(220 MHz) and 70 CM (440MHz) Frequencies for our area:

For Chatsworth,Ga - the N4YYD machines for 2 and 220 are GONE OFF THE AIR...For ever most likely.

Also, Please note that the 145.230 (W4DRC) -600, PL 141.3 machine listed for Dalton is actually on Ft. Mountain in Chatsworth (Murray County) It covers from Chattanooga to Cartersville. The only area this machine gets poor coverage is on areas of Grassy Mountain-Lake Conasauga, a popular camping area. Use the 147.135 as an alternate.

Next, there are Several active repeaters for Dalton (Whitfield County) which can be accessed from most of Murray County with 1 watt in many cases:
2 Meters: 147.135 (N4BZJ) +600, PL 141.3 (if on I-75, You can "hit it" from Tennessee, east of Chattanooga down to Lake Allatoona. Great Machine and good folks on there who"ll welcome any Hams passing through.

220: (all have "minus split"), 224.460 and 224.680 are N4BZJ's machines-224.680 is linked with SKYWARN link system to Peachtree City PL is 141.3 The 224.680 has excellent coverage.

70 Cm (440) 443.000 (W4DRC) is on Ft. Mountain and has good coverage for Murray, Whitfield and into adjacent counties (pl 141.3)
From Dalton the active machines are 444.500 and 442.175 both 141.3 pl and 444.850 k4ssp

There are several machines listed in the repeater directories, But they are not active.

There is a 6 and 10 meter repeater pair for N4BZJ at the moment, they are off line, But if Burt can find a good place to set them up again, I understand he'll be doing so soon.

Finally, If anyone hears us, on Thursday evenings, Listen for the local 10 meter net on 28.390 We call it the North Georgia Laryngitis Net. It starts at 8pm local time (EST) or 0000z summer, 0100z winter UTC.

Feel free to ping me if you have any questions, I'll do my best to get you the information.
73, Drew- KB2SEO

Thanks for all the great info Drew, the database has been updated with everything you posted (including the 10meter net and your beacon). Speaking of 10m the band has been opening here and there lately, I'll have to see if I can hear your beacon or net out west.

Hey Rich,
I get a few reports from your Region. Today, WJ5O reported a good amount of DX stations from Europe: Israel and Germany I recall as well as S. Africa! a few others, But can"t recall at the moment. The KB2SEO/B is sending 40 watts, and is a Icom 725 feeding to a Solarcon a-99 Cut down for 10. It does great from 10 meters to 17 meters.

The other antennas here is a 1 wavelength "Longwire" - Its 1/4 wave on the Shield side, and about 130 feet long on the "driven" side. I feed the long wire antennas with RG-6 or RG-11 and get great results. The other Antenna is 265 foot long Doblet Fed with 450 Ohm "Window Line, which allows Multi-band coverage. My Website is http://WWW.qsl.net/kb2seo if anyone would like to see the Shack here.

Thanks!
Drew, KB2SEO
