Hi my fellow scanner enthusiasts, I am getting a early Christmas gift this year and it is the Uniden BC346XT scanner.

My question is does anybody have it, and what are the pros/cons of it or just your general criticism on it?

Any responses would be very helpful. :)

It's a decent scanner. I was a Uniden guy but kind of got irked at them recently. I had the 396XT but couldn't justify the price tag. Digital around here isn't really all that exciting.
There is free software for programming so you shouldn't have to buy any. It's fairly easy to program manually, but *much* easier to program via software. (Unless you're a masochist.)

I just received a GRE PSR-310 scanner yesterday and the only thing I really like is the lack of having to dive thru menus. The GRE seems set up pretty well.

I bought the 346 about this time last year. Been happy with it. Can't think of any thing I don't like other than it's a PITA to program if you don't have software. FreeScan works well and is Free. Help, manuals, etc. were severly lacking when I bought mine, but have been improved, so you shouldn't have any problem now. Audio output isn't the best, but that can be over come with a Radio Shack amp. speaker.

I purchased a BCT15X prior to owning the 346XT, so it was easy to transfer those files. Hind site is 20-20, I should have gone with the 346. I don't see much difference between the 2 running side by side this past year. They are both excellent scanners. I run both off ProScan software and have been happy.
