"the pilot's approved flight path did take him over the Yakima Valley. So, he did not alter his flight plan to perform over Selah."

I wonder if his approved flight plan included the stunts he pulled?

For the last couple years while camping about 10 miles south of republic, we could hear planes echoing off the canyon walls. It always turned out to be one or two planes flying around and doing what looked like training. I have no idea where they come from but they would spend about 2 to 3 hours a day flying around. When they normally fly it's loud and it's always a suprise to see them so high up. Last summer they did something different. A bunch of us were sitting around the camp at about 2pm when everything in the camp started shaking and the roar in the canyon was almost unbearable. About 30 seconds later a plane flew right down the middle of the canyon at about 500ft above us. So much for peace and quiet of camping! I'll have to see if I have any pictures and post them.

Edit:added a picture. This was one of the high fly overs.

I believe they're A-6's from Whidbey.
I've seen them come over the Kettle Crest up around Curlew throttled up.
And north of Skykomish up the Beckler drainage.

You are correct. EA6B's from Whidbey. Apparently they have been playing with their RF toys as there are a number of local microwave circuits that get disrupted every time they fly through the area.

The EA6-Bs fly over Goldendale fairly often in the summer. Their flight past has changed lately, they used to go over town NW to SE, now it's due north and south. Also a lot higher now too, from about 5,000' to 12 or 15,000'.
