Gonzaga Area Officer Impersonation - Special Bulletin by SPD
SPOKANE POLICE DEPARTMENT- Special Bulletin – Officer Impersonation SPD Detectives need help in locating a suspect - GONZAGA AREA OFFICER IMPERSONATION Detectives with the Spokane Police Department are requesting assistance from the public to locate a suspect in a series of Gonzaga area officer impersonation incidents in the Gonzaga and Lower Logan Neighborhoods. Summary of Incidents: 1) 800 Block of East Sharp – 09/04/2010 Victim was walking into her dorm parking lot and as she was attempting to get into her vehicle a male suspect pulled his car behind the victim. He then asked for vehicle documentation and proceeded to rummage through the glove box and state “he would not give her a ticket this time, just a warning.” 2) E Nora Ave / N Ruby St – 09/28/2010 Victim states she saw a male in a vehicle the was flashing his lights at her. She believing that he was an officer pulled over. Male told her to get out of the vehicle asked for her documentation and indicated that he wanted her to do a light check because her tail light was out. 3) Cincinnati and Desmet – 10/05/2010 Victim was pulled over after seeing red and blue flashing lights from an SUV behind her. The suspect approached the vehicle and indicated that she had failed to stop for a pedestrian. The suspect asked her to look in the glove compartment for insurance identification. The suspect also had the female look into the trunk of the vehicle in attempt to “look up her skirt.” 4) N Nevada Street / E St. Thomas Moore Wy – 10/13/2010 Victim was when suspect pulled her over, had her exit the vehicle and state she was not wearing her seatbelt while asking for vehicle documentation. Victim states that the suspect was staring at her legs and made her feel very uncomfortable. 5) N Hamilton / East Spokane Falls Blvd -10/13/2010 Victim was pulled over by suspect and asked to exit her vehicle to look at the license plate on her vehicle. Be observant of all of the officers clothing or Tan SUV’s trying to pull you over. Ask questions of the officer: name, badge #, or to see a supervisor or a marked patrol unit. Call 911 if you do not believe the person is whom they are portraying to be Radio/Dispatch will verify the officer information. If confronted by this individual call 911 immediately. Suspect Descriptions: • Dark blonde or brown buzzed/spiked hair cut • 30-40’s • 5’10” to 6’0” • Stocky Build • Dark (blue or tan) two piece jump suit • Possible “Sheriff” logo on back. • Gun belt (no weapon seen) Suspect Vehicle Descriptions: • Tan • SUV / Cadillac Escalade • Newer model 2007-2009 • Possible light bar in top front window • Flashing lights at victim.
