Was it me or did NBC screw up the audio numerous times? Pretty poor technical showing for the world. Almost as embarrassing as the torch lighting part when the column wouldn't come up  Hope things go better than the starting

I noticed that, too. Audio dropped out many times, from 5 to 10 seconds in duration. When it came back, the initial 1/2 second was garbled - I would guess it was the audio stream re-syncing.

It seemed to drop out at the least opportune times, too.

I think it might be a KING-TV thing as KGW down here had no issues like that.

I guess we weren't the only ones that noticed the problem. On my way to Mark's house this morning I was listening to the morning net on the 145.190 repeater and it was mentioned by lots of folks.

Wonder if NBC is looking for a few new audio people today? :D

I would say its a local KING-5 issue, I checked both 5.1 and 5.2 on the regular cable and the signal from the cable box and it did it on all of them. Any one have the same problems with Direct-TV or Dish or non Comcast feeds?

Dish and over air were the same. Doubt it was King, voting on CBC

Again, I didn't notice a thing on KGW.

And Vancouver OBS is doing the feeds for everyone.

My theory is it was caused by all the 1st Nations doing a rain dance during the entire time all the teams were being introduced. The atmospheric conditions interfered with the uplink.

It worked well. Lots of rain. But no snow. :D

The FCC was censoring any possible foul language being uttered when the torch lighting part of the ceremony malfunctioned :bowrofl:

Watching the Today show on NBC (KING-5) Matt was interviewing "The Great One" and he was talking about his citizenship and the audio cut out twice.... almost sounded like some one unplugged it and plunged it back in twice.

Interesting , I though that NBC audio was superior on 5.1 bounding thru my system, I watched diligently opening ceremonies & watch dual tuner BEV (son of dish network in US) and stopped watching CTV feed in favour of NBC, superior in every way (pic quality about same) but audio consistenly was better on NBC, I think tech people are way more experienced in this field (being the major Olympic network) than our Canadian counterparts. I would say issues are from KING or up link ??
