Thanks for the welcome. Kent near Monroe WA. I'm not actually new. Used to hang out here 10 years ago. Got out of radio and recently bought a Uniden BCT15X. Wow, Dorothy I don't think we're in Kansas anymore!

I think I need to go back to college and get a degree in scanner programming! :D

oh its not that bad you just press the function button after you press the GPS button followed by three presses of Hold (.) Hold then after that you need to rotate the function button till you see the character $ on the display. When you see that press Scan/search followed by the VOL/Mute button twice. DONT PRESS it three times or you wipe all the memory channels back to factory.

Follow that and your basically set up, however don't expect to decode NAC on P25 has you have the wrong model for that. And to be able to properly get the radio ID you will also need to update the firmware for that.

To do that you need to...

:) welcome back, I like the fish on your Zed where you lurk on HF OM? an Adv at that!

You're very right! :D If I push this button, then this one, do it fast twice, then spin around and fart I may get it right. If not then I have to sit here for 2-3 hours and figure out how to get it back to where I was before. There should be a big red button that says...."Push this when all else fails" Return everything back to factory default condition without losing all your channels.

Maybe there is something like this for my BCT15X? I saw some where I can do 2-9-hold my breath while turning on the rig and it sets everything back to default? Doesn't this wipe all my channels clean? I'm afraid to do this I'll lose the preprogrammed stuff and I'll be up SC without a paddle!...... :D

If anything it's got me looking at websites, software and relighting my interest in radio. I do have it working well on Freescan, bcTool and the beta version of ProScan. I'll have to start asking some silly ???s soon, so get ready.

I still have HF gear, but have been out of touch there for the past 5 years. I heard the Advanced class is an endangered species. I keep a 2 mtr rig in my truck and car, but haven't been on there for several years. Don't hear much activity anymore. I'm a big 10 mtr fan, so if that band kicks into gear I might have to fire up the pwr supply and see what's going on. I still have an A-4 100 ft. in a tree!........ :D

Well Im semi-new. In Bellingham.. Scanners-Pro 433(great except no ATT which sucks), Old PRO-93, old BC560, in the car, a real old OPTI SCAN SBE, which kinda works, but the sliding yellow lights look cool, and an old, soon to be shipped to NY to get fixed, Realistic Pro 16-A Patrolman. Boy Im gonna be screwed when if this area goes digital, I wont have anything that works lol.

BTW.......Do any of you guys fix old scanners??
