My truck got ripped off Friday.
B83617F
Spokane PD # 09-056506
Fortunately no radio equipment was in it at the time.
Well an eleven meter. But it wasn't hooked up so don't hold it against me.

I mean ripped off as in 'total theft' as the insurance company says.

I feel for ya man! I'm thinking, from what I can see over the snow burm, that is about a '00' F-150?

I had my vehicle broken into the previous weekend (2/15) at Northtown Mall. I parked on the top of the parking garage in front of god and everybody not 25 yds. away from JCPenneys, went into that store and Macys for a total of about 45 minutes and came out to find the front seat a mess. They slim jim'd the door and got most everything....to include my BC-T15 and Pro-97 which were stashed under the passenger seat (the 15 was unregistered cuz I never gave myself the time to do it! ) along with my laptop. a Magellan GPS, bluetooth speakerphone, radar detector, digital camera etc.! I have serial numbers for some of the stuff and gave it to the Police when I got back here to retrieve it. The BC-T15 is identifiable cuz, if my intuitions are correct....that the guy/s are dumber than rocks....and lower than Whale s---, I changed the second message in the 15 to show, "Property of Chuck ----, if found, call 509-49- ----". The only problem is, the Uniden software to program it, is in the laptop they stole. Hopefully, they won't figure it out!

I made a quick road trip overthere last Saturday and checked out a half dozen or so of the larger pawn shops and nothing! What can piss ya off is, if they have something that might match your description, they won't show it to you cuz the Police have to check it first! Give me a break... I'm not going to claim it if it isn't mine and if it is, then we'll get the Police down here to settle it... or I wouldn't be standing here!

I don't know how much you treasure your truck but, for what it's worth, I will keep an eye out for it in case they took a road trip over to the west side!

73....
Chuck

Thanks.

It was a straight pick up. Winch on the front ( under snow), aluminum tool box in back (w/ tools).
What's even dumber; I have yet to have a phone call or email returned from the adjuster.

Full tank of gas too.

In the wild west horse thieves were hung up.

That sucks Jay. Hope your insurance comes through. When you get another one, consider hooking a dedicated APRS transmitter into the ignition circuit. I did that in my truck for years before I got a Lojack unit. The nice thing about APRS is it gives you an opportunity to catch the thieves before local law-enforcement does......

Chuck, sorry to hear you had all your gear stolen. Hope you are keeping an eye on craigslist and ebay, especially craigslist since its local, anonymous, and typically cash-only transactions.

LoJack would be cool. I used to monitor the Lojack Freqs when I lived in Pierce County. I got hits occasionally.

APRS would be cool too. Especially the day it was ripped off.

Like I was saying, no radios or firearms in the truck.

I am sorry for your loss. I know how much it sucks to lose a vehicle. I rolled my 2008 chevrolet hhr on Monday February 16th and the vehicle was a total loss.

West Plains man....West Plains! Cheney or Medical Lake are fairly quiet little towns...of course Cheney blooms when school is in session (EWU), but quiet none the less and 10 min from Spokane if you want/need to go shop!

Forks had a foot of snow? Dang.
I like the fact it doesn't get hot in the summer. Like eastside hot.

Could it have been you observed Native Americans, not Spaniards?

Any small town would be better than having to be concerned with yer property being ripped off.
Anyone been up around Okagnogan and Ferry counties? Nice up there. More wildlife than people.
Washington is the best state in the union.

I know. Does not help your situation. But it's nice to know something is being done.

Republic is one of the best-kept secrets up that way. Winthrop too, but too expensive to live in.

The insurance company owns it now.
