: : : : Hi all! While I am waiting for my Trunktracker to arrive, I've decided to update my Pierce County list. I listened to Pierce Co/ Tacoma Fire for over 12 hours yesterday, and didn't hear one single dispatch within the Tacoma city limits. Does anyone know where they are? TIA, Brett
: : : Boy do I have egg on my face! I guess Sunday was a slow day in Tacoma, as they are still dipatching on 154.295 (no tones for individual companies though). Sorry to post without confirming first.
: They use MDTs alot unless its urgent most of the time.
Over the last few years the Tacoma Fire Dept. has been using MDT's to dispatch units to calls. Usually, when a unit is in the station the dispatch comes over both land-line and MDT's. If out on the air it will come out on the MDT's and sometimes a follow-up message from dispatch to the effect that..
E-8 you have a call, check your MDT....Tacoma still turns aprox. 32,000 call/year
