Some agencies are using a new "low-profile" type of antenna that is a circular unit about 2.5" in diameter and about 1/2" high. They are available in 800 Mhz as well as UHF/VHF.
The triangular spacing of the antennas would seem to indicate that these antennas are used with a bank robbery transmitter tracking system. (You often see 1/4 wave whips mounted in this arrangement to allow "triangulation".)
: Sorry about the Spelling.
: I saw a Des Moines Patrol Car Yesterday with 3 black circles on the roof.
: In a triangle position. What are these? Anybody know.
