I'm using a BC780XLT now to listen to all of Snohomish County's VHF radio traffic. It works great and I'll be ready when SnoCo makes the leap to trunking. Not all agencies plan to transition to 800 so the BC780 is a good selection to follow all systems. Fire paging will stay VHF for a while since there are no trunking pagers. Rumor is police and fire services from Marysville south will start trunking around June, 2002. I'm sure their will be radio traffic on the system before then as the techs optimize and tweek all of the sites.
