put it in trunk mode and hit serch and listen to it go.then read your user guide to find out howe to enter ID"S good luck...

: Configuring for trunked systems requires two things.

: First you need the full set of frequencies the system uses as a 'pool'.

: Then, you need IDs. These IDs are assigned (unique) within a given trunked system and usually represent common groups such as fire districts, swat, dispatch, ops and tac channels, and so forth.

: Since you've programmed the frequencies in, and assuming that part is done correctly -- you'll need some valid IDs also... you might try using the search button, which will stop on anything. You can either catalogue and program those IDs, keeping the ones you want, or obtain a list from someone here (or various web sites).

: On the BC245, you can use the search button once you're in trunked mode. Press the one labelled [SRCH].

: Mark

: : : Make sure you are hearing the data channel. It sounds something like a low-pitched machine gun.

: : : Then be sure to follow Pgs. 40 and 41 exactly.
: : : In step 3, choose E2 800.

: : Dick,

: : Yes, I can hear the data channel. I can manually scan but as soon as I hit "trunk" the radio goes silent but the screen seemingly is scanning. I entered the frequencies exactly as shown in the manual.

: : I wonder if I have a bad radio?
