Hi,

I have a 245xlt (1st version unfortunately). However I haven't used a Pro-92. But I can say that if you live in an area that is any substantial distance from the trunking site you plan to listen to, I would probably go for the 245xlt. I say this because I live only about 5 miles max from the Val. Com. Trunking site that I listen to, and it is pretty scratchy but intelligeable. If the Pro-92 does any less in trunking I think I would not be pleased with it, if I were to get one. This is the same reason I am sticking with my 245xlt for now. Yes the alpha tags would be great but ya win some and lose some I guess. The difference between the 1st and 2nd version 245xlt is the first has a 5 second delay between the trunking bank and the 2nd does not. On the 1st version when you scan both trunked and conventional at the same time, the scanner scans the trunked for 5 seconds then scans through the conventional only one time and repeats the process. On the 2nd version I believe the time spent on the trunked bank will be 2 seconds. Anyway the choice is yours, personaly I'm holding out for a handheld version of the 780xlt. MMMMMMMMMMMMM what a tasty toy that would be. If nothing else go try the 92 for your purpose before you buy or do the same for the 245, if you can find one in a store that is. Good luck!!

Happy Scanning

: I'm trying to decide between BC245XLT and Pro-92. (I'm upgrading from BC200XLT). I'm leaning toward the Pro-92 because of the alpha tags, but some sites say that the BC245XLT works better (trunk tracking) than Pro-92 on certain systems. Anyone have any expierience with either one of these in King/Snohomish county and care to comment? Is there another handheld I should consider besides these two?

: Thanks!
: Charles
