Are we talking about towers being out of commission here, or just how the system handled all of the volume? I have never, ever heard of even 1 company that could handle all the volume it receives when everyone freaks and picks up there phone after a wide spread emergency. It's cool that voice stream came through for you! But surely there must have been areas where VS's routing was affected. Even if their system was superb, i mean at some point they do dip back into the hard wired infrastructure (which was most assuredly under massive attack from both users and nature), and it would be tough to tell from our end just what the problem was. I heard one construction worker on TV after the event say that he saw a cell tower sway 8 feet in either direction. Weables Wabble but they dont fall down...
