I read in a local paper a few weeks ago that Sno County Fire District 1 (County Fire, North of Lynnwood and South of Everett) has decided to spread their paramedics throughout the stations in their district - rather than have dedicated "Medic" units (that would run with 2 paramedics each). I guess the new plan would place 1 paramedic in every station in the district, and the aid cars will all run with 1 paramedic/1 EMT (or 1 paramedic, 2 EMT's).
It appears that plan is now in effect. I'm hearing SNOCOM (154.010, 127.3hz)dispatch "Rescue" units to medic calls now, rather than the traditional "Aid XX, Medic XX".
I'll keep listening throughout the day to see if I continue to hear this correctly. So far, I haven't hear the old Medic 11 or Medic 21 units dispatched to anything - only "Rescue 11", "Rescue 12", and "Rescue 13". I have never heard these units before today.
