You have five possible problems:
1. There is an internal power supply problem.
2. There is a problem in the audio amp circuitry.
3. The scanner was dropped and the board is cracked.
4. The speaker coil may be open.
5. You may have a shorted capacitor.
I teach Electronics for a living. I once repaired a uniden
scanner that was a lot like yours. It had a shorted capacitor.
The value was 470mfd 10v. If you have some technical know how,
you can check it out. SAC
