I see this, too. It seems to be normal errors in decoding the bit
stream; the software is prone to interpreting the garbled data as an
"I-Call" (poor term since there's an 800 meg channel with that name).
The effect is lessened if you're not using control-channel-only mode,
since the scanner checks for a valid frequency and catches a chunk of
the errors.
