Just a quick note, If you were that desparate to purchase an actual radio. You could have it programmed to receive only. Which will allow you to listen but if you tried to transmit, you would be Gonged out. Also if you had the availability to transmit, Valley Comm would be able to track you. Not a good idea. I recommend getting a scanner.

: : Hey Guys,

: : I work for an agency in King County who utilizes the King County and
: : Seattle trunk. Our portables are checked back in after shift, and
: : I wanted to look into getting my own portable, like a Motorola
: : MTX800. If I bought one is there anyone who can program the
: : radio to my specs? I doubt the comm shop would program a personal
: : radio besides we use Astro Sabers and that's too much for what I want,
: : Also if you have anyrecommendations on a different radio, that would be nice.

: If you want my opinion ,you wouldnt want a two way radio anyways because you wouldnt want to get caught talking on the same frequencies if your not supposed to be. on the other hand if you just want to scan that frequency to listen in on all conversations you should purchase a pro-94 trunk tracker and conventional 1000 channnel scanner from radio shack for $300-$400
