: This may Sound Dumb but Would The Airline Let me take my PRO 32 on The Plane With me ????

It all depends on what your intentions are. I assume you are talking about a PRO 32 scanner. If you are just carrying it to listen to while in Alaska (away from the airplane) you should be able to carry it. I carry a scanner quite often in my carry on luggage. If you are intending to try to listen while in the air, forget it. It is prohibited and as I understand it, also enforced. Aircrews that I have talked with advise that it can interfere with their radio and navigation equipment. If that is true, I wouldn't want anyone on board doing anything that had the slightest possibility of creating an unsafe condition. Some might argue that recent studies indicate that the interference may not be as bad as thought before. The laws and regulations are still the same, and interfering with a flight crew is still a Federal Offence and serious. And who knows, these recent studies lessening the severity of the problem may be found to be wrong.
