I have some handheld scanners and I want to increase their range by mounting an antenna on my roof. Are there any problems I should be aware of (such as the signal strength overloading my scanner). Additionally any other recommendations (type of antenna,can I amount it near the chimney, type of antenna and cable, etc) would be appreciated since I have never mounted an antenna like this before.
