The various DNR regions will program local fire agency channels in their mobiles as well on an as needed basis. Many of their portables are multi channel, Bendix King units. Their system has a ton of repeaters all over the state. Most action is in the summer months but DNR, as a whole, does a lot more than just firefighting. There is talk now of DNR moving to a digital radio system. The N/W region may be the first to switch ? Call signs are typically geographic to assigned areas (i.e "Nooksack xx" or "Glacier xx"). Engines are: "Engine xxx."
Wildlife officers use the 159.420 (statewide DNR channel)and use call signs such as: "WILDLIFE xxx". Often times they can be heard on the local WSP channel.
Park Service Officers / Staff typically use the simplex channel but upon occasion you will hear them on the local WSP frequency. They use a call sign such as: "PARKS xxx"
I'll keep searching for an official frequency plan, if one exists.
