I did the BC890XLT mod on the pro-2036, but I
got 66-88 MHZ, and lost 29-54. I think the
reason for this was that when my scanner was
serviced, they took out R546, R547, R548, all
hooked to the keypad, so that if I did the mod
it wouldnt work. pin 71 on the chip is CEL, pin
70 is FB (foreign band), those are linked to R513
and R514 respectively, if your scanner has the R
546,547,548 resistors try the BC890XLT mod listed
on the net. if you open the whole thing up
find the chip located behind the face plate.
there are 3 little black resistors to the top-right
corner.. CAREFULLY desolder the lowest one, and
move it and resolder to the two empty copper pads
closest the the backup battery.. my only problem
is if to resloder hirosontally or vertically..
let me draw a pic...

r512 o-o o o <-empty pads
r514 o-o o o <-empty pads
r513 o-o

--------- battery --->>
| UC14xx | <-- main processor

you either solder r513 next to r514, or from the
top right one, to the bottom right one, of those
4 o's that have nothing on them..
the r512 is for CTCSS... dont touch it.
if you want 66.0-88.0 resolder r513 to the right.
AT YOUR OWN RISK.. no GUARENTEEs
