Low-band will have some good openings for the rest of the afternoon today and should pick up strong tomorrow morning. Yesterday at about 4pm I was able to talk from my car on I-5 to a guy in Hawaii for a good half-hour on 28mhz.

Things should be good from 25 to 60mhz +/-. Here are some possible targets:

12 meter ham (24.89 to 24.93 USB)

26mhz broadcast remotes (narrow FM, can be received on a scanner, look around 26.05 to 26.55, there's a strong one in Florida that can be heard on occasion)

27mhz CB + out-of-band channels will probably be a war-zone

10 meter ham (28 - 29.7, try 29.60, 29.62, 29.64, 29.66, and 29.68 FM with a scanner)

30-50mhz low-band - Probably the usual Mexican stations on 30-32mhz and East-coast police/fire 33-37mhz, however the bonus will be the 40-49mhz stations you don't typically hear under usual band conditions.

50-54mhz ham band - Should be wide open, at least according to posts I saw on qrz.com

...and TV channel 3
