I have an FT-50R also and it can be modified, It is an excellent radio, if you haven't picked up a radio yet, then try this one.

: I have a hardly used Yeasu FT-50RD with box and manuals. I believe it can be moded for out of band use - although I'm not certain. It has a nice wideband receive as well.
