: I listen to the State Patrol here in the Moses Lake area and keep hearing them say, when on a traffic stop,"998 Ephrata - clear A-"Adam."
: They also use, "619 Ephrata - Clear C-Charles." And I also hear, "164 Ephrata - clear-W William."
: Was wondering how many codes they used and what they all stood for. I assume that C is for citation and W is for warning, but unsure of what A stands for.
: Any ideas?
The codes that you are refering to are the uniform clearance codes that are trying to be implemented state wide . They are the ones created from the Washington State Criminal Justice training Academy. A lot of L.E. agencies in the stste are adopting these . Makes statistical reporting easier and uniform through out the state . I am surprised that W.S.P. is using them , normally they make up their own rules. You know the regular State police Academy isn't "good enough" for them . They have to have their own.....................
