A Seattle Times article and some TV news stories are saying the Sea-Tac Guard folks will be paired with airport police, and thus unlikely to have their own Guard radios.

The last time I heard the Guard on the low-band VHF freqs (around 48 megs) was during the last big flood in Snohomish and King counties (think it was 1995). Someone in the Guard told me several years ago, however, that they are now using SINGARS radios.

Look at http://www.acd.itt.com/singars.htm They are made by ITT and there is a pretty nice 610-kb PDF file to download.

In short, SINGARS is frequency hopping and can be placed in crypto mode so good luck!

: : : Now that Bush is going to call out the national gaurd, What freq would they be using or would they be on?
: : : or would they be using airport security freqs for communaction???
: : : Dave.....

: : I have not seen any with radios yet... or as a matter of fact any with ammo magazines in there M16's

: Maybe they plan on using the bayonet.
