Maple Valley and Shoreline are both under contract to the King County Sheriff. According to other information in the topic that would partially explain why Maple Valley and Shoreline have Impalas.
Also, I recall a news story a couple of years ago before the new Impala was released. According to the story, the National Association of Chiefs of Police had seen a protype of the Impala and had voted to designate it as the police car of the future.
I have also seen Impalas in Milton and Mt. Vernon.
