FYI, and interesting piece of trivia. (This could have changed though.)

Patrol cars are only allowed to violate the RCW (Section 47? - traffic laws) only when in Code 3.

Alhtough, I've seen a few cars in Code 2 status, when at a stop light, must put on their sirens briefly (just to legally violate a red light.)

Any current LEO can add further...

: Code 1 - Non-code, no lights or sirens (yes?)
: Code 2 - Lights, no siren
: Code 3 - Lights and siren
