: : does anyone have frequencies for puget sound area vehicle extenders, maybe i can get all those transmissions i'm missing if they have them on scan mode like wallawalla wsp was doing

: : Walla Walla ? you Mean Moses Lake Don't you

A mobile Extender is USED ONLY to connect a LOW POWER FIELD PORTABLE UNIT to a Base Dispatcher - THROUGH a 2 WATT Car/Mobile Repeater. IT IS NOT INTENDED TO REPEAT ANY OTHER TYPE OF RADIO SYSTEM> The WSP Mobile unit just happen to have the radio on SCAN. IT MAY NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN FOR MONTHS OR YEARS> It is a SYSTEM to CONNECT a WSP TROOPER - THAT is Out of the unit - on a traffic stop - or at the scene of a accident to be able to TALK on a LOW POWER (1-5 watt) PORTABLE to a MINI-REPEATER (2 watts) that is connected to the WSP Patrol Units MOBILE - that in turns - RE-transmits the low power portable back to the office DISPATCHER - by way of the MOBILE UNIT RADIO - and BACK to the portable FROM THE WSP DISPATCHER - ONLY. IF you MONITOR the WSP - AND YOU HEAR A "CLICK - BEEP" a local WSP UNIT has STOPPED VERY NEAR YOUR LOCATION and TURNED ON the EXTENDER. IT ONLY CAN BE HEARD for about a HALF MILE AWAY FROM a Mobile unit. THEY ONLY TURN ON the EXTENDER when they get out of the car. YES - EVEN AT A LUNCH BREAK - can you HEAR all WSP Dispatch - FOR THE LOCAL AREA - IF A UNIT has turned on his EXTENDER while at lunch. You too can LISTEN to the EXTENDER and hear BOTH sides of the WSP CALLS. Why not just invite a WSP OFFICER TO LUNCH. Mike
