Note that the article mentions that Puyallup is going to be switching to their new 800 Megahertz system shortly...

See, this is what happens when you spend too much time exploring a trunked system on 380mhz miles to the west of you, and ignore the fact there's a new 800 system being installed in your backyard.

Control channel is up on 868.575, showing a system ID of 830D, the same as the City of Tacoma's system, and a site number of 02, whereas Tacoma's simulcast system is now showing site 01. So, Sean was right and the Puyallup/BL system is going to be regarded as just another zone of the Tacoma system, allowing much wider area coverage for all on it.

::grumbles something about VHF simplex::

In several hours of listening, I've noted nothing but some stray noise on 54096, the AMR ambulance talkgroup.

So far, there are no active talkgroups on the system that I've heard. 868.750 is still the control channel, and the other ones are just broadcasting what sounds like a Moto control channel, but is just noise. I think they're burning in the repeaters...

Everyone is still on VHF high right now.

FYI, the Puyallup TRS was live today with what appeared to just be an open mike on talkgroup 144, and someone counting...very briefly.

There is no control channel right now, so I'm assuming it's still deep in testing phase.

The control channel is still absent, and I noticed all the Puyallup FD cars and FD rigs are sporting shiny new 800 mhz 'pigtail' antennas.
