I am hearing an Aid 70 being dispatched today (I haven't listened in a while.) Is this a new aid unit for Kent? If so, can anyone advise where is it located? Also, is there now an Engine 70 as well?
Any other recent changes in the Kent area?
Thank you,
Gampawayne

Here's what's been happening with Kent Fire:
http://www.ci.kent.wa.us/fire/mediareleases/index.asp

Clicking stations on the right shows the list of stations, but I don't know where Aid 70 is coming from.

I spoke with Kent Fire this morning. Apparently Station 71 is now operating with one engine and two aid units. The new designator, Aid 70, works out of Station 71 as one of the two units.

So is Aid 70 staffed 24/7 or is it like a PAU?

Per the Kent Fire Dept. business office they are both on 24/7. I was given that information today.

What is a PAU?

Sorry. PAU stands for Peak Activity Unit. Sometimes departments put another unit in service during the time when they are extremely busy.

So I am guessing they divided up the coverage area for aid calls at station 71.
