THANK YOU for the heads up on this. The family and I went mostly "off grid" for the week in SE Oregon. I did get some data service at one point and catch this.

Last night I setup my ICOM 703 and worked Palos Verdes on 6 meter sideband.

The other side was running about 700 watts into a beam pointed north. I was running a measly 10 watts into an MP-1 antenna.

He gave me a 5x9 and a WOW! 10 WATTS!!!

Honestly it didn't seem to open for very long

N6KN is who I worked as I recall
Booming signal

I heard him work many Western WA stations, but only heard one side (the SoCal side)

Yea- Looks like we gotta grab these brief occasions as they intermittently pop up nowadays.

Needles is back tonight!

Ive just assembled a Laird "Ringo" lowband antenna and Im in the process of weatherizing it (sealant, paint) to last the salty moist air for a good long time.. It should outperform the fiberglass Motorola branded stick I have up..

SSB. I've also been having fun with the Sunday morning VHF weak signal net on 144.24 at 8am. Even with the low spot numbers I got into SoCal on 10 meters a few days ago.
