Antenna is not on the roof (14th floor) of the tower, but on the second floor roof garden above the entrance.

They seem undeterred by the convention center's 50 watt TRBO repeater 5 blocks away.

Since its digital they can't hear it and probably haven't a clue why their radio system goes to hell sometimes.

How can I tell without seeing the repeater?

What kind of radios do they have?

Well, I guess you could assign different group ID's to time slots which is what is represented on your notes. I was thinking Hytera because their repeaters will dynamically assign GID's to an open slot -- like a mini 2-channel trunk system. If that was the case you would see the same GID showing up on both slots.

Looks like whoever put the mirabella system put 2 GID's on the same slot and prayed to whomever that they don't want to talk at the same time.

Each group always stayed on the same slot. On small systems that aren't very busy this is pretty common.

I've never been there so I have no idea what kind of radios they have but based on your description, I'd have to say it's not the Hytera radios. In my neutered down version of CPS, better known as Vertex Standard Clone Editor, you have to pick a slot when you program in the channel. If you want to hear voice on both slots you'd have to do a scan list. In fact, you can transmit on TG 1 on slot 1 and it will not open up any radio listening for TG 1 on slot 2.

If it were an issue you can always do a 1-freq Capacity Plus system. One 12.5 KHz freq will do two slots, and the rest channel will ping pong back and forth between both slots as traffic is keyed up. If two TGs are active, the third that tried to key up would get bonked.

They probably don't want security to ever get bonked, so it gets its own slot. And the other two TGs can share a slot. Sure, they might get bonked every once and a while, but that's the price you have to pay. And who knows, they may have other TGs that weren't active in the ~36 hours I monitored this.

I don't know why this is becoming a trend, but:

451.7625 (100.0) Horizon House nurses WQHE621
Repeated but not licensed for it.

TG=4 (Housekeeping)

Not a very active system... license has been good since November and I just now found it.

They have a shitload of frequencies all at 25w... this frequency and CC matches the TRBOWEST channel. Getting them pretty good at my QTH in SE Bellevue (from Kent.)

TGIDs
-------
6500
6600

RIDs
-----
(all Radio IDs are 1)

Voice sounds rather muffled. When I first heard them on 6500 they had roger beeps after each transmission. They sounded like firefighters wearing oxygen masks... I thought it was FF training or something... haven't heard them since.

Pretty active frequency but don't understand their lingo. Definitely a large building with multiple floors.

Oddly, it doesn't appear to be a CAP+ or CON+ system...

Code:
Amazon Kent Distro
------------------
451.3
452.225
452.5      CC:7
452.7
453.0125

451.7875/456.7875
451.8625/456.8625
451.9375/456.9375
451.9625/456.9625
452.3625/457.3625

463.5125 (179.9) Container crane. Possibly channel 30. Probably Total Terminals WQNR867 or SSA Terminals WQEF248.

Very very poor background noise cancelling in a loud environment?

That -- or it's just a lack of signal on my part. Picking up DMR that far away is pretty amazing in of itself. I'm not sure it's them but it made the most sense.
