I was thinking of Jay the other day, as I pondered back roads and hill tops to explore this coming year. The photos of his bike in all those out of the way places immediately came to mind.

RIP Jay

I missed most of the 16th due to travel vagaries, but wanted to bump this. RIP Jay.

I worked with Jay KC7BUR. We worked for the department of Corrections. He moved to Eastern Washington and we lost touch . I moved to Eastern Washington a few months ago and started searching for him. After some research I was shocked to find out my friend had passed away. He was the one who got me into ham radio and helped me build my first antenna and sold me my first HT. RIP my friend.

Weird. I logged in looking for some random frequency I'd found in California a few years ago and got sidetracked by one of Jay's old posts and read with pleasure, dismay and shock some of his rambling (and hilarious) diatribes over the years.

Took me a half-hour to remember what I was originally looking for, then I remembered what today was.

RIP, Jay.

8 years bro. You're probably glad you missed all this.

Regardless, you're missed.
