Thanks Nick. Kind of confusing. :)

Yeah just a bit. Theory is that IWN gives them increased coverage. I guess they might as well use those sites for something. :)

Hear a bunch of troopers throughout the day saying that they 'switched to conventional', after not being able to reach the dispatcher.. :sigh:

I also see their ID numbers popping up on VHF..

2 years and millions over budget, and the old system still works better than the new one...

I'm really starting to think /\/\ INTENTIONALLY lies when they sell a system..

I have NEVER seen a /\/\ system implemented on time/budget with the sites listed per the mission outline. It's always 'whoops! You need more towers than we thought you would, but you're halfway there, can't scrap it because it's too expensive, so our $23 million is actually gonna be $55 million by the time we get done, K? Tnx'

For what it's worth, WSP Vancouver is being heard occasionally on various IWN VHF sites down south using TG 59510. Testing was being heard for a while on TG 59501.

Chehalis was testing today, transmission was several radio checks on area. "1215 Chehalis, how's the signal?" "1215, trunking sounds good where 'radio' is poor' "

This was being done on area 155.85, with the usual P25. I quickly turned on the scanner with both 700 and IWIN for the area and didn't hear anything

OK. Vancouver definitely has someone hanging out on the trunked system and dragging traffic over. Mostly on site 121, WSP Vancouver dispatch in on 59510.
Site 120 also

In KingCo, they're using the trunked system to split out the 'car' channels - east, north and south. Sounds like they haven't got the nomenclature settled (or maybe just old habits), as I usually hear them all called CAR 2.
