In which Wil starts ranting again:
Wil had a new secure filing cabinet installed today. Wil is used to several types of these, from the small red ones with the safe-style spinner combo locks to the tall, multi-drawer ones that are individually keyed for each drawer.
Wil's new cabinet has biometric sensors, complete with a UPS built in, a second battery on the sensor housing itself and a last-resort high-security key lock. The guy bringing it in placed it along a wall that has no outlet. The power cord is 24 inches long.
Wil- "Uh, how ya gonna power this thing?"
Dude- "Well it has a battery, you don't need to plug it in."
Wil- "It has to charge, that battery is for power outages..."
Dude- "This manual says it's got a battery."
Wil- "Dude, it needs to be *here* (where here refers to ANY OTHER LOCATION). I'm not moving it, that's your job, and it weighs more than I do."
Dude- "I already placed it. My instructions don't say anything about moving it."
Wil- "I see how it is. I'll give you ten bucks to just move the damn thing."
Dude- "Five bucks?"
Wil- "You're new to this whole negotiation thing, aren't you?"
...Then poor Luminoxs calls and ends up nearly getting an earful about this...
Try using a stun gun/taser on it.. I heard those electronic locks spazz out if high voltage is present and unlock themselves..
