Was at REI Seattle today, armed with all their licensed freqs. Heard nothing, and observed no one with a radio, even the parking cashier/security guy.

Others:

453.0125 (D432)- Repeated, sounded like security in a building somewhere. Another user came on and was trying to find out how many chairs were needed for an event. Met Park Towers on Olive Way uses this freq, but with a tone of D025. Maybe they switched?

461.350 (123.0)- The old Seafirst Bank security freq, now I have no idea. Conversations were far too short to get an idea of who this was. V Mason and the Hutch use this one, as well as a building on Westlake Ave. Repeated.

The library uses a contractor; does REI?

Yeah, I think his patch said Northwest Protective. I was busy arguing a two-dollar parking charge. I did see an old-school cordless phone in his little booth, but no radio.

ETA- after looking at their website, I'm around 80% positive it was Northwest Protective.

Northwest Protective? I've seen their cars down here in Portland lately for some weird reason.

Point Defiance today:

154.570 (88.5) Zoo Ch-1 (all ops and calling)

154.600 (88.5) Zoo Ch-2 (extended conversations switch here)

151.520 (D074) Zoo Ch-3 (same as Ch-2)

151.580 (D074) Zoo Ch-? Never heard a channel number. Maintenance stuff here....Kid puked in Wild Wonders.

151.040 (CSQ) Washington State Ferries, Point Defiance to Vashon run.

152.465 (225.7) Sounded like a distant ski patrol repeater...Helo was departing, xxxxx was going to be late for his 1445 lesson on the mountain. Found a license for international Mountain Guides, who do alpine and backcountry ski courses at Crystal, as well as Rainier ascents.

172.500 (csq) bitching about how "after parades that showcase a lot of native american culture, it looks like a garbage truck dumped it's contents along the parade route." It have it as DOE. Also a 1:46 recording if anybody is interested, if the recorder worked.

There's also web links to NPS use, and Canada has licenses for (BC/Yukon) a construction materials firm and a bus operator (Kelowna).

Methinks you're right, Mike. I used to have some surplus Moto Expos on the Seafirst freqs.
