      * Voters will be asked to approve the Regional Fire Authority Plan developed by the City of Kent Fire Department.     * Voter approval of the plan will combine the fire department administrations of Kent and Fire District 37 into a single entity of governance.     * The Regional Fire Authority will have its own funding plan and organizational structure.     * The Regional Fire Authority will address the issues of increasing service demand and growing response times.     * The Regional Fire Authority will create regional efficiencies with local control. 
  The City of Kent Fire Department responded to over 16,000 calls for assistance in 2009, employs 194 full-time personnel with a minimum of 28 personnel on duty 24-hours a day.  We operate out of 8 fire stations, staff 7 fire engines, 2 aid cars, and 1 ladder truck under the direction of 2 shift battalion chiefs.
