Would you happen to know what's on 162.9450. I'm thinking a repeater on Cypress? I'm getting a semi decent signal on that freq. with chatter all day. They just moved a log off the side of the mogul course a bit ago. Sounds like a ski patrol freq. Nothing too exciting, but at least I'm hearing some thing.

Seen at Waterfront station a few hours ago. No idea what kind it is, but it looked kinda like a toy cell phone I had when I was younger.

I think that's a M/A-COM logo. Tyco sold to M/A-COM who sold out to Harris Corp.

That would kind of fit too since M/A-COM loves their giant red buttons. Although I couldn't locate any radio matching that image under the M/A-COM name on Google.

Since I see none of you guys other than mr.xjf hang out on ScanBC, I will spill the beans.

The radios the nice curvy gal in green is carrying are in fact MA/COM OpenSky Radios. TransLink's bus subsidiary, Coast Mountain Bus Company operates a OpenSky system for its bus operations.

That definitely wasn't the yellow FRS-type radio she had clipped to the front.

Every official person in all of the SkyTrain stations (PD or not) had an acoustical tube earpiece.

yeah the person that has the radio in the pic is a Canada line( ProTrans BC Operations Ltd)employee not a Coast Mountain bus company employee or Vanoc
The Canada line or the old name, RAV line sevices the vancouver-richmond/yvr airport and operate in analoge mode in the 412-413mhz band.
dont know what kind of commercial radios they use but I do know its not a ma/com-harris opensky radio.
what Ive been told the opensky radios look like those old WWII Handy talkies the Coast mountain bus co supervisors use and hate :P big mofo's

we have a wierd public transit communication system set up here with five or six different bands of communications for each user being used but all overseen by Translink.

Seabus 410mhz range repeater analog moto plus marine freqs
Expo line(skytrain) 410mhz range repeater analog moto
Millennium line(skytrain) 410mhz range repeater analog moto
Canada line( ProTrans BC Operations Ltd) 412mhz range repeater analog
Westcoast express train 160mhz range analog..standard na railroad freqs
Coast mountain bus(public transit) company 800mhz digital opensky m/a-com harris
Oh yeah I cant forget about West Vancouver transit co blue buses 800mhz analog conventional.

Hey, it was a good guess! The MA/COM OpenSky radios that New York was testing looked kind of weird like that. Except the buutons looked like they were for a toddler.
