This is why I do my audio feed with one of these:

HP T5710 Thin Client

You can get them used cheap and they use very little power.

Rich, where might I find one of those thin clients? eBay? We used to use those at my old work....do they have to work off a server somewhere or can they work stand-alone? This leaving it hooked to my laptop is not going to fly...

So far this morning I've been hearing a data burst over the Wal-Mart MURS 154.570 channel 1. Then at 11 o'clock it just suddently disappeared...and now it's back...

For others records:

Code Adam = Lost Child

Look around the web or on ebay. $60-$80 is about the right price. Ignore the idiots on ebay who price them at like $150. They work stand-alone and run XP Embedded. It uses non-volatile memory instead of a hard drive.

I've got an Optiplex GX240 that's using about 38 watts under load. No fancy NV RAM storage or SSD though; just generic IDE.

A lot of noob radio users. Several people are talking before they transmit. Then they get angry when no one hears them... LOL.

"I need a member of management to the grocery side please there's a drunk in there."

I've already talked to nickcarr but is anybody else listening to the feed?

Joey, The FCC allows the use of a constant open carrier and "data" on certain frequencies -- as well as voice. The three MURS channels, 151.94, 151.88 and 151.82 as well as 154.57 are allowed to be used by anyone that wants to use the channel -- for voice or data. The "shopping cart collector or Pushing machine" runs on a data signal. So do handheld marketing & inventory machines. They automatically check inventory stock and re-order products. The MURS channels are all un-licensed and use of the un-licensed channels saves Walmart big bucks -- not having to get an FCC licence for every store. Each time Target or McDonalds applies for a FCC permit -- it costs around $ 600 or more.
